For the fifth year, FundsPeople organized the event The Future of Depositaries with the main depositary entities in Spain: BBVA, BNP Paribas (Securities Services), Caceis, Cecabank and Inversis. The aim of the conference “Digital Assets and regulation: challenges in the post trading industry” was to address the challenges and opportunities faced by this sector, as well as to analyze the evolution and future of the service offered to asset managers.
José María Marcos, Director General of Entities of the CNMV, was in charge of opening the conference, which took take place in the auditorium of El Beatriz.
Afterwards, there were two round tables. The first, entitled “Asset Managers in a constantly adapting regulatory environment”, featured Roberto Santos Hernández, Head of Operations at Andbank WM; Sergio Fernández Pacheco, Head of Operations at Azvalor AM; Alfredo Vega, Head of Operations at A&G; José González de Canales Moyano, Head of Tax Advisory and Reporting at BBVA AM; and Jesús Pinilla Martín, Head of Administration and Resources at Kutxabank Gestión. It was moderated by Elisa Ricón, CEO of Inverco.
The second panel “Cryptoassets and technology: a business opportunity for the sector” was of depositary entities and was attended by: Aurora Cuadros, corporate director of Securities Services at Cecabank; Óscar Pino, director of Depositary at Inversis; Alejandro de los Ojos, director of Sales and Customer Relations in Spain at Caceis; Emma Urraca, sales for Spain and Portugal of Securities Services, BNP Paribas; and Francisco Maroto Castro, head of Blockchain & Digital Assets. It was moderated by Francisco Béjar, General Manager of Iberclear, BME, SIX.
The event was also featured a talk by Javier González Perandones, partner at KPMG.
